I think they could have made all five had Cogliano scored a few seconds earlier than 16:40. Good job on Gilbert for scoring his first of the season; at the blue line, no less.
Things to note: Icing was not called at one point in the second period, and according to the announcers, it was pretty obvious the puck was iced.
Scott Hannan got a puck to the face. Yep, it missed Stastny who was not wearing a helmet and went straight for the guy who was wearing one. Stastny dodged a bullet there!
The announcers seemed to struggle with "Cumiskey." I heard COMB-iskey, comb-ISKEY, even Cumsky. Not that difficult, fellas.
So, with a final score of 5-3, the Oilers ended the Avalanche's 6-0 home game win streak. It also ended the Oilers' 3 game losing streak. Yay.
