This bobblehead night played out better than the Kane bobblehead night did. Hossa stayed for the whole 60 minutes AND scored two goals in a row in the third period! He was named the first star of the game. Following was Brouwer and Niemi. Brouwer scored the second goal in the second period. Niemi almost had his hundredth shutout, but Nokelainen scored at 3:21 in the third. I didn't feel so bad about missing another shutout because Brookbank scored at 2:02. It's less of a punch to the heart when there are two goals instead of a single one.
Versteeg scored the first goal in the second. Period number one was scoreless. Steeg and Brouw were the only two to score in the second. Toews was the other person to score in the third.
Glad to see Sopel sticking up for Niemi when he was trapped outside the net. I was so scared; I couldn't see the puck! Apparently there is a "no touch zone" behind the net, so Niemi was waiting for the puck to cross into the "ok, touch all you want" zone, and right as the puck crossed into safe territory, an Anaheim player rushed him in behind the net. So... yeah.
With this game, Niemi is 10-2-1.
And Brouwer is at a Blackhawks career high of 11 goals. Hossa is currently at 8. My 31 goals [for Hossa] prediction should be scratched off the board.
Final score 5-2
